The wakeup call came when Mr. Daniel Affum-Darkwah went to Ghana for his mother’s funeral in July of 2012. He saw children, aged 5 to 10 selling water on dangerous streets for just a dime. Many are not in school because their parents could not afford their school fees. Many struggle to get their daily meals and clothes. It is heartbreaking and something must be done immediately.

Initially, Daniel had wanted to build an orphanage with a school inclusive, so that, the children on the streets and everybody who needs help can could come and stay to get the necessary help needed. He started out visiting some orphanages in Ghana to get first hand information on how they operate. Each visit saddened Daniel’s heart and he literally cried as most children he found had malnutrition, lacked medical care, not properly clothed some with wounds all over them, and most were not in school.

He decided that instead of building another orphanage, he would rather support those already established to provide support and counseling to teenagers and parents who need help. He will just have an office and a warehouse across the nation and Africa, where the under-privileged can easily have access to TADMI’s services by registering for free.

Hence, TADMI was born in January 2013 with the goal of ending the cycle of poverty and educating people on healthy living, family planning and how to leave an inheritance for their children.

Daniel’s ultimate goal is to provide education and support to the poor and under-privileged in our society to alleviate the cycles of poverty, hopelessness and dependencies of many kinds. TADMI envisions providing clean water, medicine, educational materials, homes, support for orphans and the aged, skills training and micro-enterprise development assistance. This goal will be accomplished.
